Very intuitive and easy to install. Make sure to get your fit kit for your vehicle.

Although I appreciate the time it arrived, the end caps did not fit because both Evo wings at the end have a dent, which prevents the end caps to properly be installed. And because we’re taking a road trip, I don’t have the time to send this product back. So, with some ingenuity I was able to install the end caps. This was probably a return product because of the defect, and yet, they shipped it out to me instead. As I mentioned above, I don’t have the time to send it back because I have Thule cargo box ready to be loaded for our road trip. If it wasn’t for our trip, this would have been returned. I should have just wait and bought it through Thule website.

There isn’t a lot of info out there on what roof racks work with the 2020 Ford Escape with panoramic roof. I took a gamble on the fit kit (6049), along with the evo flush rail foot pack and the 53″ wingbar evo 135.It fit! Install was pretty easy. The only thing I had some frustration with was that I’d get all of my measurements perfectly set/centered/whatever but then as the bar tightens down it can pull you out of your perfect measurement a bit. It took a couple tries but I was able to get the bars perfectly centered and spaced eventually. Also, the end caps took a little finesse (gentle rubber mallet) to get pushed on, but it wasn’t too bad. Start with the backside, tap tap tap, then make sure the middle area lines up with the rubber spacer, then keep tapping until it’s all the way on.Better yet, there’s at least 1/4″ of clearance between the bar and the highest the panoramic roof goes while it’s sliding back or tilting. There’s a very slight increase in wind noise, and depending on which direction/speed wind is blowing from I pick up a tiny whistle somewhere in the 30-50 mph range. I haven’t played around with moving the bars forward or backwards yet though. In any case, even with the radio on low the noise is easily drowned out.Overall, very pleased with my purchase.

This review is actually for all 3 components that combine to make up the Thule Wingbar Evo rack system. I purchased the foot pack and adapter kit on Amazon and would’ve got the crossbars too but had to use some credits I’d accumulated at REI. Nevertheless, I found this system easy to assemble using the Thule video tutorial, and the quietness of the rack at 75 mph is almost unnoticeable….less than the sound of your own car’s tires. I’ve replaced my Yakima system because the usable bar space was just 37” between the foot pads as opposed to 50” with the Thule. The difference is that Thule bars are not inserted into the footpads but rather sit atop them. Carrying a bike rack AND a cargo box together is now no problem whereas prior the Yakima rack was engineered in a way that prevented the cargo box from opening without first removing the bike rack. Consequently Yakima creates limitations to what can be carried on the roof….but now it’s no longer an

Check out my video review for tips; The pros:-incredibly well made-Great looking addition to your vehicle-whisper quiet when paired with the evo barthe cons:-very high price tag (plan on paying around 700 for a full roof rack setup)-instructions could be betterI hope this was helpful, along with the above video. Very sturdy and appropriate for my Niro.

There is a missing part for each foot.

  9. Lance C. Henning (verified owner)

Thule flush mount “Kit” is not a kit at all. Its missing the “feet” that allow you to mount the things to your car. which is $150 more plus you have to buy the cross bars for 269, oh and locks and keys, add $69.99. That makes your total $758 oh and tax. Save yourself some money and buy the kit from Volvo for $258.99. They hold the exact same weight. THULE you are a rip off!I hope this save someone some time and money.
