Haven’t gotten to test them out as it’s winter here but they are easy to install and look to be quality. Will be bedding them in and looking to put them to the test come springtime

I did slickrock in Moab and burned my old pads up. Was worried about replacing the pads with a different type but have had absolutely no issues doing so. I had the 10.11s in there and upgraded to these. Quiet and the stop on a dime. No real break-in, no noise, no issues.

Removing the old brake shoes can get tricky if the outer shoe slips down too low, so try to keep a good grip on both shoes when drawing them up and out of the caliper body. Then, you are likely to need to push the two pistons back into their cylinders in order to make room for the new thicker shoes. This isn’t hard if you have a LARGE flat-blade screwdriver. Just slip it down between the pistons and gif a couple of firm twists. Don’t worry, they are tough. It’s also VERY important to NOT SQUEEZE THE BRAKE LEVER until the shoes are replaced. If you do, even a little, you will need to push those pistons back into place for sure. Not hard, just a thing to do. These shoes bedded in pretty well, but I think it will take a few rides to get them really grabbing. I cleaned the brake rotor with 90% alcohol before I replaced the shoes to remove any lubricant contamination. Acetone works well too.

I mean they clamp and brake, incredible. they do exactly what they are supposed to do. remarkable redness. i mean these are really red. and red is rad.

Stopping power is plenty even on mechanical brakes. If you ride alot of miles and ride down a lot of hills they will glaze. Sand them down and they’re back to normal. Squeal very loud once they glaze.

Installed on my trek marlin 5 to replace the stock organic pads that were over 2 years old. The stopping power has increased by a massive amount! Definitely recommended for anyone with stock tektro brakes.

  7. Craig (verified owner)

Swapped these for my stock 10.11 pads. Holy WOW, what’s difference. You get two pairs and my Trek stops like never before. Super simple to swap out.

These pads combined with 203mm Magura rotor are great on the Himiway Cruiser. Bedding was easy and effective. Braking increased dramatically after the 5-6th bedding stop.

  9. Valintino (verified owner)

They are the best pads so far tektro make for my bike as a matter of fact they are the best pad I ever used and I tried many different brands
