About this item

– LIGHT FOR ANY ACTIVITY: With 450 lumens, two beam patterns (flood or mixed), and several white brightness levels; the ACTIK CORE provides high-performance lighting in dynamic outdoor activities. Lighting can adapt to proximity, distance, or rapid movement. Red lighting preserves night vision and prevents members of a group from blinding each other.

– RELIABLE PERFORMANCE: With Petzl’s 50:50 Brightness-to-Burn-Time ratio, your Petzl headlamp will retain 50% of its original brightness halfway through the Burn-Time, rather than the 20-30% brightness you get in other brands.

I ordered this headlamp for a bag I use when I work a disaster response. Often there is no power for an extended period of time and the response carries on into the night. It works perfectly in that role.My primary concern is the ability to keep the light powered and running. Petzl designed this light to use both a rechargeable battery pack and AAA batteries. This is the perfect hybrid for my uses. When the battery pack is drained I can replace it with three AAA batteries until I can get power to recharge it. You can also get additional rechargeable packs separately. The headlamp puts out both a flood beam on low and adds a more focused brighter beam for distance use. The beam is perfect for close up work and also good for a moderate distance. It would work for night hiking but is not a thrower. It also has a red beam option but honestly, I rarely use it. Just an added feature for me.The headband is comfortable and secure. The construction of the light is strong

Pro’s: – Lightweight (75 Grams) and very comfortable to wear – Comes with rechargable CORE battery removing the need to buy countless AAA batteries. – Three useful brightness levels with the lowest offering 130 Hours of burn time – Has additional red lightCon’s: – Construction feels cheap however I have not had any issues over the past year of use yet – I question its water resistance, however, i’ve had it packed with snow after a winter hike and had no issues. – The second picture shows the significant gap that exists with the battery in the headlamp and the battery door latched shut

Excellent lightweight light. Very easy to use with 3 white light settings and 2 red settings. Low setting is perfect for close up lighting that doesn’t mess up your night vision. the middle and high settings are great for dark moon less night walks. It has very good light distribution. Lights up a very large area on high with no spotlight effect. My favorite thing is the recharging capability and the brightness of the high settings. I have 4 headlights and this is by far my favorite. More money then some headlights but worth every penny

I wrote about this headlamp in my book and how it came in more than handy while I was on St Maarten when Hurricane Irma destroyed it. That one lasted me for five years. I just replaced it with the same model. I crew sailboat deliveries across the oceans and it has even helped signaling other vessels at a distance. I the battery life is great, i do recommend having more of the usb batteries. I would get the protection for if you use it heavily eventually the seal around the on/off button might deteriorate. Again it took five years and over 5000 Nautical miles for that happen. You can’t go wrong with this headlamp. And even tho Petzl should, they don’t sponsor me to write this, lol.

Like everything else you buy today, the older Petzls I thought were better: the switch is cheesy. Instead it’s mushy, not crisp, when you click on and go through the various settings.

I like that it is so light weight and yet still very bright, and re charges so easily. The night feature is nice. my husband loved it, especialy the recharge feature. He’s had a couple other ones in the past, more bulky. He would look like he was a mine worker (he isn’t), so this new light weight one was a pleasant surprise that I hadn’t even noticed when I ordered it.

The battery options sold me on this headlamp. I used it for a 10 day hike and brought extra AAA batteries just in case but didn’t even need them

Great light and love that I can switch to aaa batteries once you use other one up. It’s great for to have your hands free.
