An all-around tool for the toughest demands, this Knipex high-leverage CoBolt cutter features a lever action design that applies 20 times more hand force for superior cutting power with less effort. This mini bolt cutter can cut through more than you ever thought possible — up to 1/4-inch diameter with ease. It’s ideal for automotive or construction applications, cutting cotter pins and nails, repeated use in factory assembly lines, cutting wire fencing in agricultural settings, or even everyday tasks such as cutting floral wire or fish hooks.
Forged from chrome vanadium electric steel, it’s built to last. This lightweight cutter features precision-matched cutting edges for cutting soft or hard steel. The cutting edge recess near the joint keeps thicker wires in a better cutting position (optimum lever ratio), so there is no need to re-position the tool to achieve the desired cut. It’s completed with multi-component comfort handle grips for a wider grip. It also features gripping jaws below the joint for gripping and pulling nails and wires.

Quality in Every Detail
Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long lasting. Because we don’t want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.
The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.
The rivet of our high-leverage diagonal cutter also has to stand up to a lot of stress. That’s why we literally give it backup: we forge it straight onto the pliers. This means extra effort as we have to precision mill the rivet to a few hundredth millimeters. But satisfied users are worth this effort.

Bluntly put, up until last week I had not had much experience with bolt cutters and knew limited information about them as well. Knipex certainly is the the number one company to purchase mini bolt cutters that are 8 inches as well.Wow, these Knipex bolt cutters are terrific and are also 100% made in Germany as well. I’ve cut several types of screws with this and I even have cut a wide variety of metal with as well. Nothing too thick, but they did an exceptional job. I really like the fact that the cuts are even virtually every time. Provided though one uses these bolt cutters at an 90 degree angle precisely. Essentially you want to make the object your cutting as even as possible.Also what a difference a spring provides instead no spring attached. Not only has this provided a much easier time cutting multiple items repeatively, however this also provides better control in when cutting smaller items. I make chainmail in my free time out of high carbon steel piano wire with a .071″ diameter. When I make coils they are only around 5/16″ so bolt cutters are typically too big to fit into the coil when you are cutting it into rings. My original solution was using a Dremel with a cutting disc, but the wire is so strong that it would eat down the discs really quickly (not to mention the mess the disintegrating disc would leave behind), and it would take forever to cut a full coil. I tried a few different high leverage cutters (all of which were made in China) but the piano wire indented the lot of them. That is when I was browsing around and found these. Expensive? Yes. But I decided to give them a try because of the high rating and thank God I did. KNIPEX has found a loyal customer from now on! I’m already looking at getting more KNIPEX products. These are such solid, well made tools that they totally worth the investment. They take me back to years ago in my Grandpa’s workshop with all of his old but solid tools from the 1940s/50s made out of good ole American steel. Unfortunately the American market doesn’t care about quality anymore… THANK GOD the Germans do! Totally worth the money! Do yourself a favor and invest in one good tool instead of tearing through 10 cheap ones… you’ll save money in the end!

I have been looking at these Knipex bolt cutters for some time now but the price was always a bit high. I decided to purchase one and the first thing I noticed was the quality! The lock opens with just a slight flick of your thumb or index finger yet stays locked even while trying to shake it open. I have large hands and the comfort grip handles really gives you a solid feel. They are built like a tank with zero side movement and a great finish with no sharp edges. The cutting edges line up perfectly and boy do they cut! This is a tool that will last a lifetime with proper use and care. Now that I have them I would honestly say I would have payed much more for them. I highly recommend these bolt cutters to anyone that needs a tool like this.

These really are the best and I cant believe ive spent money on inferior cutters, really!The cheaper ones couldn’t even dent a stainless Otiker ear clamp. These just slice through it like butter.Ok, you have to put a little oomph into it but it actually works.If I ever loose these, im buying another. Hands down the best high leverage cutters you’ll buy!

NOT GOOD FOR TIG WELDERS. I posted a picture of the snips you want for clipping TIG wire. nice snips in general, though. If you need to clip your filler just buy a pair of the more simple snips. They snip 1/8th inch wire better and the handles fit in your hands a lot nicer. I find myself having to use two hands a lot with the springloaded snips because my hands are not large.
