The Hurtta story began with our personal need and desire to protect our dogs from the cold and ever-changing, extreme conditions of the North.
We are from Finland, ”The wild North,” a place known for its pure and exotic nature and unrelenting winters. Originally, we were clothing industry professionals, and we were determined to make functional products for our own dogs while also developing a range of functional dog gear globally.
We’re no strangers to the parks, trails, and training fields that dogs and their owners frequent every day. Our expertise stems from our extensive apparel industry and design experience and the bonds we have forged with other caring dog owners, dog trainers, and dog sport professionals worldwide.
Our love for dogs and our 20-year history are evident in everything we do. We’re always exploring and experimenting, working and reworking, testing and retesting – until our dogs let us know that we got it right.

Buy this product based off the back length, the rest is highly adjustable. I bought this to stop my aussie from cooling down too fast after exercise in the wet winters and it works perfect. I am a Hurtta product.

It covers my little rescue dog (part Maltese, part dachshund, part ???) very well – only have to wipe his chin and his feet. I followed the directions for measuring and it fits quite well. He doesn’t love it, but likes it better than 15 minutes with hairdryer. It passes the “Wet Coast” (Vancouver, B.C.) test with flying colors.

I have bought many rain jackets for my sugar cube ridgeback who swears she will melt in the rain, and they are always substandard. They only cover her back and don’t keep her as dry and she wants to be. This coat covers her back, neck and hind end perfectly. The material is soft and functional. I wasn’t sure how warm she would stay in this jacket, but after I removed it she was dry and felt nice and warm. I highly recommend this product to anyone who also owns a sugar cube or just wants to keep their dog dry on rainy days.

I love love love Hurtta coats!! They are amazing, perfect for under my guide dog’s harness because they are super thin and light. This one keeps so much of my Golden Retriever’s fur dry when it’s rainy out. I love that it has the collar part that you are able to leave loose or tighten up if it’s pouring. I don’t always use the elastic on the hind legs and the coat stays in place well (in and out of her guiding harness). I also have the Hurtta extreme warmer coat which is amazing for freezing weather and snow.

This is one of my favorite purchases I have made for my dogs. My huskies LOVE to adventure at any time and place, and we wanted something that could help us cut down on drying time since they have so much fur. I had been looking at Hurtta products for a while but wasn’t sure if the cost was worth it, and I’m here to tell you IT IS. I would buy these coats 10x over again. They’re extremely well crafted, fit our dogs amazingly (follow the instructions from Hurtta and you’ll get a great fit), and our dogs aren’t irritated by leg loops or any of the other strapping. Thank you for such an amazing product.

I rescued a pitbull from texas and I live in WA state, so she needed a warm coat for our usually wet springs. The coat is well made and feels of quailty. I was cautious at first to buy cause she is a roller, and what i mean is dirt, gravel, pavement, grass, pine needles with sticks, she doesn’t care and the coat has been tough enough to withstand her rolling around on all surfaces. She also rubs her sides on whenever is around, so that alone has made me happy with our purchase. I own the slush combat suit, the downpour suit, quilted coat, and this drizzle coat. Im very happy with hurtta.

I measured the length of my dogs back accurately and the sizing was too large even so, my 9lb toy poodle mix measured 12 and jacket was way too big and my 25lb maltipoo shih tzu mix measured 16 and that was way too big. Looks like a decent jacket if you can actually get accurate sizing.

Product is cheap and not worth the price it is being sold for. Unfortunately, I bought 4 thinking based on description that it was going to be the best purchase for my dogs. It is not insulated, it does not cover them well and it definitely does not last. String to hold it in place is cheap and badly placed making the dog uncomfortable. I have bought coats that are a third of the cost and were longer lasting and very build then this one. I wish I could return them and just get my money back. What a ripoff.

Blown away by the quality and thoughtful design of this brand!! We have a few jackets from other popular brands and they don’t even come close.We haven’t tested the jacket in a downpour yet, but I have no doubt this will keep my dogs dry and comfortable on runs and backpacking trips. Very adjustable as you can see from photos. Decided on size 20 for both dogs, my koolie could get away with an 18 but the 20 has a little more coverage. Follow the Huerta size chart and you’ll get a great fit (back length is the most important measurement). Already bought the mid layer jacket and the expedition parka for my pittie.The only thing I would improve on is adding gussets or stretchy fabric to the front leg area like the expedition parka for a bit more range of motion.Black pittie mix, lean but muscular, larger chest, weighs 49lbs, size 20 fits perfect.Measurements:Back length: 20Chest: 27Neck: 16Blue Merle Koolie, lean with narrow chest, weighs 43lbs, size 18 fits sn
